Back from OC!

We got back Saturday and I was in the ER on Sunday, lol. If anyone knows me, they know I have a habit of getting sick in the summer, usually requiring a hospital stay-heck, maybe even surgery-but thankfully not this year. I had a kidney infection, but that's not the worst. The worst was the Levaquin (POISON I tell you) that I only took two pills of and was sicker than I've ever been in my life! Stay away from that stuff. My doc gave me something else and I'll probably have to have something done about the kidney stones.

Progress on my Praire Fairie:

I got pretty much done and it was so awesome to sit and stitch with this view:

Had to buy some stash while there. Lots purchased at Sea Needles, some at the Spinning Wheel and some at the Salty Yarn. And yes, you better behave in there or you might wind up on the Salty Yarn Blog and you do not want that! So I have my charts, stand in line and pay--then LEAVE, lol.

This was a wonderful vacation and gosh how I treasure those memories. Waking up to the sound of the surf and seagulls is awesome. And when you are boating and the dolphins come so close, it's some kind of magic I swear. We look forward all year to that one week, and we'd love to "retire" to the beach someday. Gives us something to shoot for anyway! Maybe I'll do some digi scrapping pages of the beach and post 'em here--I took SO many pics this time and need to get them in an album. Well, I don't *need* to, but would like to. :)

I have so much to catch up on with all your blogs, and I'll be doing that the next couple days I promise. Thanks to everyone who reads and is remotely interested in my ramblings. Next time I'll have hopefully finished my Fairie and gotten that first line of specialty stitches on Goblin done. I really don't want to give up on that one, but I'm tiring of silk thread, believe it or not.

Have a great stitchy week everyone!

  2. So sorry to hear of your sick spell. Hope things get back on track. I love the stash you purchased. I've been back to my mixed media fun stuff. I tend to do that in the summer. You have sparked a little stitching flash tho. Hmmm. Blessings, :) P

  4. Kindney stones? Poor girl! They suck really bad, I've heard that Levaquin is bad. I've had my fair share of stones, have them give you Stadol in the form of nose spray. It will knock out the pain and you will be able to rest. Glad you had fun and was able to enjoy your vacation.

  6. YAY!!! I'm so glad you're back, I've missed you.

Remember when I had that huge sinus infection? The doctor gave me Levaquin and it was horrible. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. It also made me feel "crazy." I took myself off of it...

You like the mermaid? I'm going to do the next one on murky colored fabric.

    ;)

  7. Ok, everyone has mentioned being sick so I won't! Glad you're on the mend.

I can see how retiring to the beach is a very appealing idea. There is a sense of being at peace when you hear the waves.

You've got lots of great stash which is such a bonus on your vacation. Take care!

  12. Awesome stash, and what a gorgeous view to see when stitching. Glad you had a good time, except for the not feeling well and going to ER. Hopefully you're totally recovered from that now and the Kidney stone clears without to much more difficulty. Nice start on the Fairy, very cute. Looking forward to see your next post of Fairy and Goblin.

  13. Glad you're feeling better! I know so many people that have had kidney stone issues lately....from the sounds of it, I pray that I never have to go through that myself! Bless your heart!

Great stash!! You're a brave girl for going to that shop! I read that blog once and decided right then and there to never give them a dime of my money. God forbid I breathe on the owner the wrong way or ask some stupid question, as I am want to do, lol!

    Stay well!

  14. Welcome back! Sounds like you had a terrific holiday, but to have kidney stones - how awful. :( Hope you get yourself sorted out and stay away from that Levaquin.

Your Fairie's looking so cute and such a great stash buy you had while away. I love looking at what other people get. So interesting.

  16. Great progress on your WIP! I hope you are feeling better. I'm glad that you had a great vacation! I went with friends down to Salty Yarns last Friday and was relieved when the owner wasn't there. I have talked to her before & enjoyed our conversations but have since read her blog & was terrified I'd do something stupid (a habit of mine) and end up as blog fodder. Yikes. Lovely stash!
