Stitchy update finally!<p>February has been a blur. Lots going on. I actually got some stitching done the past week or two!
Here is progress on All Good Witches.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEgUG9z_wzrAJYHiKkyV86F7j6tZ5b4hZtj6a6gMGQLyoRkwiU4WfyRC1j3hoQNsNJfk3bfKXqfiopGxXxLg63S8BoK4Io-qjW52M8G5ieTd474VTdzxX9RFcb5GTmS04ZnkprMNRj92rQMYtpE2lAl4mPenoCRtcPDSP_tHRlMDy8avhGVUGn_QjWCzPU/s4032/IMG_3679.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEgUG9z_wzrAJYHiKkyV86F7j6tZ5b4hZtj6a6gMGQLyoRkwiU4WfyRC1j3hoQNsNJfk3bfKXqfiopGxXxLg63S8BoK4Io-qjW52M8G5ieTd474VTdzxX9RFcb5GTmS04ZnkprMNRj92rQMYtpE2lAl4mPenoCRtcPDSP_tHRlMDy8avhGVUGn_QjWCzPU/w500-h375/IMG_3679.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipnN3s1_ZmW_HOQC9SD5b2DQYQqT5sUYdZteIXbIUu2-9qOvjN5cp2UmU2cOD3IW-WX9HSgavEVroAO7XgXLmR0y9OZ8mLxe4BIYVz27IMYLdrnObU0olHtKQNZP2Ak5x4hOIJ-O4iL8UR9VjrKmnJNmOf38D07ECsXBDUT4jRtNZVJF9fQMXg88KsQghM/s4032/IMG_3680.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipnN3s1_ZmW_HOQC9SD5b2DQYQqT5sUYdZteIXbIUu2-9qOvjN5cp2UmU2cOD3IW-WX9HSgavEVroAO7XgXLmR0y9OZ8mLxe4BIYVz27IMYLdrnObU0olHtKQNZP2Ak5x4hOIJ-O4iL8UR9VjrKmnJNmOf38D07ECsXBDUT4jRtNZVJF9fQMXg88KsQghM/w500-h375/IMG_3680.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><p>I still couldn't put the crochet down. I thought about doing a couple for V-Day gifts and they just multiplied. I'm hoping my Galentine's Day recipients don't read this blog (I doubt they will!), and I couldn't wait to post them so here they are: </p><p></p><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0eGgQi_f3r9mhplVpQyuzsWGJjVyqKRfWiRR69dvy5dgqkuccvZginxoPjdNZX2-aEhBUjP5TKIdftsWRGm7FnrfK7OyEYnv5SXAPXL3X-lyOJTQngebkSbRZgPDhfTvASEM4hr4XtW-aAo_F2rbPzi_YcwBD8WG3R3Q714-P9bY5Pim8012RBnAw1WJd/s2048/result_image.jpg"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0eGgQi_f3r9mhplVpQyuzsWGJjVyqKRfWiRR69dvy5dgqkuccvZginxoPjdNZX2-aEhBUjP5TKIdftsWRGm7FnrfK7OyEYnv5SXAPXL3X-lyOJTQngebkSbRZgPDhfTvASEM4hr4XtW-aAo_F2rbPzi_YcwBD8WG3R3Q714-P9bY5Pim8012RBnAw1WJd/w400-h400/result_image.jpg" width="400" /></a></div> I made these hearts in a pod in worsted weight too, and I literally cannot stand how cute they are. <p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQLyfV91N0a9iZ5GIItOLmianl4cdOo2RCwgbYRwj9OgqbxoFQH5hORXCRKKrD824iECBdLqfH9OBAyP5cyAsrgXJ83Ga6RxbCRtzxV3afsZwh-lbvWd_rV3Sl7HOZcKmRuTMNLYgXM5KyVmYMm0V2yiBygynKnypli96jembh95o4iJPjTKYeOeln-Gwg/s4032/IMG_3547.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQLyfV91N0a9iZ5GIItOLmianl4cdOo2RCwgbYRwj9OgqbxoFQH5hORXCRKKrD824iECBdLqfH9OBAyP5cyAsrgXJ83Ga6RxbCRtzxV3afsZwh-lbvWd_rV3Sl7HOZcKmRuTMNLYgXM5KyVmYMm0V2yiBygynKnypli96jembh95o4iJPjTKYeOeln-Gwg/w375-h500/IMG_3547.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><p></p><p> I mean, RIGHT? I have one project to finish and a million to start. How are you guys faring with the beginning of the year? </p><p>My mom and I get together most every year to go over our goals for the upcoming year. But I had a suggestion this year that we go over them every couple months to see where we are at. Too easy to let things fall by the wayside. But you also don't want to set yourself up for any failure so we think hard about these goals. They were all pretty reasonable, so we shall see!</p><p>I hope everyone reading this is having a great start to the year and enjoying themselves. Good luck with all your goals and endeavors this year. I'll check in soon with more updates and hopefully a stitchy finish!</p><p></p><p></p><p> <a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54491/60/966FAE44D11E6D74F545A851B55F45BF.png" style="background: transparent; border: 0px;" /></a>

Goodbye 2023!<p>We are at the end of another year. It turns and turns whether we want it to or not. I haven't done much stitching at all, but finishing up Summer Bouquet was a years long goal of mine. I have always loved that sampler and I am so happy I finished it! I'll take it in for finishing soon! I'm not that confident with pinning and framing linen, so I'll probably leave this one to someone else to do. I do hope to continue to work on stitching that I love this next year. It's just been tough lately. </p><p>Here's a pitiful update on All Good Witches by Pineberry Lane. The lighting on these is awful, lol. Oh well. You get the jist!<br /></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg51tilnJ-ZrKuhs7W8_7vGPuX-YTW9hD996WpJKSQzKQ4LruSKlWbkn0_rL0kY7FGjYoL8XeDDL3ZvGEpq-VUaxICJzbretbyRcoP2xLvqv_LUlyG7SHYyTU0p2dw0ogAeZPv74HMtKNCZxW2S7YcW1awbr1agPbT7jMZDvNP4Jk2gzxez9SbUuzgqdfDT/s4032/IMG_3386.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg51tilnJ-ZrKuhs7W8_7vGPuX-YTW9hD996WpJKSQzKQ4LruSKlWbkn0_rL0kY7FGjYoL8XeDDL3ZvGEpq-VUaxICJzbretbyRcoP2xLvqv_LUlyG7SHYyTU0p2dw0ogAeZPv74HMtKNCZxW2S7YcW1awbr1agPbT7jMZDvNP4Jk2gzxez9SbUuzgqdfDT/w500-h375/IMG_3386.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-6mTjITZz9mEbvz0yQsOziyGIIy1iewjowwodHsLdZJ2lEMYjez_nKzQgRpcVHx7t0PRP1SvAIp1KI_1yClUKG78e2-McjqMsddJT8Q9i6FtxzdQE75X1vmJXYM3EPUeV0qlKVFr2DbVmgdynTzlY5v06URat1DlEIXASsaRxqlUwNuSE6ATuyLG3MyJo/s4032/IMG_3387.HEIC"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-6mTjITZz9mEbvz0yQsOziyGIIy1iewjowwodHsLdZJ2lEMYjez_nKzQgRpcVHx7t0PRP1SvAIp1KI_1yClUKG78e2-McjqMsddJT8Q9i6FtxzdQE75X1vmJXYM3EPUeV0qlKVFr2DbVmgdynTzlY5v06URat1DlEIXASsaRxqlUwNuSE6ATuyLG3MyJo/w400-h300/IMG_3387.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p>I did lots of amigurumi projects this year and I was really happy with that! I need to keep using up all this yarn, so I'll be crocheting more this year too. I also started designing here and there again, but haven't officially released anything just yet. Maybe I'll get there soon.</p><p>Look at my second gorgeous embroidery from my amazing daughter in law! So beautiful! I'm in awe of her embroidery skills! I am so appreciative of her time and effort in making these things for me. The kids came over in the morning and after an incredible opening of gifts in which they got us the most thoughtful and great things, we cooked a big breakfast and we all sat around and enjoyed it at our table. My father in law lives with us now and it was so nice for him to celebrate his second holiday here with us. <br /></p><p>Thanksgiving was good. I got to see my nephews for the first time in 2 years. Dynamics change when people get divorced and that is what happened here. I sure miss seeing them, but they are busy boys now with lots to do and two households to do it in. One of them is graduating college soon and they've just grown up while the world was spinning and I have missed out on most of it! Seeing them, and being with my kiddos was the best thing about it. I could honestly do without Thanksgiving though. Not really my favorite holiday or event. Am I weirdo feeling like that? Anyone else who isn't fond of Thanksgiving please chime in, lol!</p><p></p><p>My sweet little boo boo had to have surgery this past Friday. She's doing OK, and recovering well. But this pup is 17.5 years old! She is s tough little Jack Russell and keeps on trucking. This past year has been tough on her with losing her eyesight and most of her hearing. She still loves to eat and has a good appetite. One of us usually always has to be home with her as she gets stuck in corners and her legs may splay out on the wood floor areas. Poor baby. Sweet little Jenny. She had this same surgery last year, when she was ONLY 16.5 years old, and it was a totally different game. She is just much more delicate this year. <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzsxexBdykH4l7ngSCjbtuBbKCjj_Kl8SqbaxB2oCKp4QUHemL9L6ezQIv19892WohWRu8RrU3Isqat3fVQgqs8bKKZX2t8WlBGSzv6xSP_12GS2P3pIROW2xRq6B85aszqwbDDOwNuFihVI2LyzIZSZjUd5DlaqWrXbCgOoIBW6z7mmx6qx2J20uQqUN_/s4032/IMG_3382.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzsxexBdykH4l7ngSCjbtuBbKCjj_Kl8SqbaxB2oCKp4QUHemL9L6ezQIv19892WohWRu8RrU3Isqat3fVQgqs8bKKZX2t8WlBGSzv6xSP_12GS2P3pIROW2xRq6B85aszqwbDDOwNuFihVI2LyzIZSZjUd5DlaqWrXbCgOoIBW6z7mmx6qx2J20uQqUN_/w375-h500/IMG_3382.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><p>She is officially the last pet we'll have. I'm done! </p><p>Well, I'm tired from caretaking for a little doggie this weekend, and it's NYE, so I'm going to sign off. I hope everyone has a great New Year's Eve and new start to 2024! Halloween is over and I guess it's Merry Christmas time!
I have not stitched on Summer Bouquet in a while. No update there. Haven't stitched on Good Witches either. Something is always taking away from the attention I want to put towards things lately. So I have been focusing on quick crochet/amigurumi project for a bit to take my mind off some things. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV-MJRsaW7JprgnSmtEmi5IQE5mjGf1YyO90vRTkRd1q14DZHR0fs1pHji-S4ziiyXOGNAHqrbqb7X0Oy-dFlhj_PIDrOFbx6EaJWo-3-iKuqmX7O0SmJezE_URYkUm6LCoClWdGoQIK3uzNtfI_XnGBMgG7ICWl2bR411xCbGh92i5RQF9G78Y_nI3d5_/s4032/IMG_3132.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV-MJRsaW7JprgnSmtEmi5IQE5mjGf1YyO90vRTkRd1q14DZHR0fs1pHji-S4ziiyXOGNAHqrbqb7X0Oy-dFlhj_PIDrOFbx6EaJWo-3-iKuqmX7O0SmJezE_URYkUm6LCoClWdGoQIK3uzNtfI_XnGBMgG7ICWl2bR411xCbGh92i5RQF9G78Y_nI3d5_/w375-h500/IMG_3132.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPBW9iZQJKM_eCzff0ELzC52GqIthdFacW_u7OT5kk-kozkEc-LKHG-qKTCEn4tOTHD66iuilxf7HOasIp0lDvzWSYO-xb8JJTV08otJGAANRkedVjPecZiWVneCLRy78IGuKDrcL83JaE1JQSyRiOVfKUVYmmG1HIgLsO3vOyVBpNu2Reh1uAfU94hDyD/s4032/IMG_3136.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPBW9iZQJKM_eCzff0ELzC52GqIthdFacW_u7OT5kk-kozkEc-LKHG-qKTCEn4tOTHD66iuilxf7HOasIp0lDvzWSYO-xb8JJTV08otJGAANRkedVjPecZiWVneCLRy78IGuKDrcL83JaE1JQSyRiOVfKUVYmmG1HIgLsO3vOyVBpNu2Reh1uAfU94hDyD/w375-h500/IMG_3136.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsGMWFN8aeIP0-Qhyphenhyphen7nCLaD1C_4nWrtUFb72q4Gidq29dDL-k-FHs6M-3Rh-Y1164JIBV9YToWScHyoXZhdEwUEdLKtQhgzrNH5DFHcp163AAhIPrlLzsRzU9FNLrOY6kvjHXAVkYzBVwGKDfKoO5QB7ZzJs_w6NiRqBzoajLysxqNPitcTr1P8qFmln2L/s4032/IMG_3139.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsGMWFN8aeIP0-Qhyphenhyphen7nCLaD1C_4nWrtUFb72q4Gidq29dDL-k-FHs6M-3Rh-Y1164JIBV9YToWScHyoXZhdEwUEdLKtQhgzrNH5DFHcp163AAhIPrlLzsRzU9FNLrOY6kvjHXAVkYzBVwGKDfKoO5QB7ZzJs_w6NiRqBzoajLysxqNPitcTr1P8qFmln2L/w375-h500/IMG_3139.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><p>I'm telling you-I LOVE these little ghosts! I won't bore you with all of them, but I flew through these and made a set for my friend's daughter. They should have arrived today in fact. If anyone wanted to see them, you can peek at my Ravelry Page <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/projects/tammy1966?set=&page=&search=&sort=completed_%20status_changed_&view=thumbnail" target="_blank">HERE</a>.</p><p>How does a person with no kids at home and a (basically) part time job NOT have time for things? Well, I have an almost 17.5 year old doggie who I love and she requires a super strict schedule, lol. That's one thing. The other thing is that my mental capacity just cannot deal right now. My husband had an emergency surgery and needed to be off work for a month, etc. Don't get me wrong-I WANT to stitch. But something always comes up. I hope it won't be that way for long. I need to get over it and start doing it. Story of my life sometimes!</p><p>And, shhhhhhh!, I started designing again. I have several designs I'd like to get out, but I need to update my Etsy shoppe and get some things in order before I do that. But I am filled with ideas, which is super weird to me right now. But I made myself a strict goal and I stuck to it and voila! Imagine what I could do it my brain was at 100%!! LOL.</p><p>So many projects I want to do and create!</p><p>Need to get back on the walking and WW wagon again. I have goals there too. My mom and I went on a walk at the park recently and the weather was absolutely glorious! </p><p>We literally went from 88 degrees to 47 degrees in ONE DAY yesterday. The day before Halloween, it was so warm and beautiful. Yesterday was super chilly and felt like a different world!</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPXwWdBqHCWcxRm72tXXYxwF9URuT_Z-LqdbGVO0_XA5VN2tjZnbqy5rdgJUeCbuak7wcKxNTT4F-LO4IqwOhZLKWNvK17OUrIuugZEANoAhxQm-5t0mEmplIsDSBW6Gwg0jWJj4_ktyQVRw9C9z49T7x8FqiBkMbtLy5AMe_0GTdBOBQkaxUZ4oMf8tcU/s4032/IMG_3090.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPXwWdBqHCWcxRm72tXXYxwF9URuT_Z-LqdbGVO0_XA5VN2tjZnbqy5rdgJUeCbuak7wcKxNTT4F-LO4IqwOhZLKWNvK17OUrIuugZEANoAhxQm-5t0mEmplIsDSBW6Gwg0jWJj4_ktyQVRw9C9z49T7x8FqiBkMbtLy5AMe_0GTdBOBQkaxUZ4oMf8tcU/w500-h375/IMG_3090.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><p>I hope anyone that comes across this blog is doing well and taking care of themselves. As the wheel of the year turns to chillier weather, it's time for reflection and introspection. I plan on trying out some new warm and cozy recipes, tackling some interior DIY projects, along with some more designing and stitching. I need to come up with a schedule for myself so I can utilize my time better and be more productive.</p><p>My plans do not include waiting so long to update again, and maybe this will be the kick I need to get some stitching in this weekend!</p><p>Take care and I will see you soon with more updates! <br /></p><p></p><p><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54491/60/966FAE44D11E6D74F545A851B55F45BF.png" style="background: transparent; border: 0px;" /></a></p>Tammyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11001167831077281848noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7678904437450117860.post-71127840281417311922023-09-11T18:37:00.000-04:002023-09-11T18:37:02.176-04:00Stitching Updates and Vacation!<p>Whew, it really has been a couple months??! Got busy with life, doggie, family, etc. Did do a bit of stitching and Summer Bouquet is SO CLOSE to being done. I'm hoping to have it finished this week. Here she is so far. Today is 9/11, and it's something I will never, ever forget. If you are looking for something new to watch regarding that day, please check out National Geographic's 9/11: <a href="https://www.nationalgeographic.com/tv/shows/911-one-day-in-america/episode-guide/season-1" target="_blank">One Day in America</a>. It is 6 episodes of about 45 min. each and well worth it. It is graphic in the descriptions and images from that day of course, so be forewarned. But it's amazing to me to see this day from so many perspectives. I don't ever want to forget, and so I make an effort to spend some time reviewing what happened, and looking for new information every year. </p><p>Be back soon with a finish and some more pics and updates! Hope everyone is well.
Been working on a few things and trying to put some stitches in Summer Bouquet too, when I can! Here she is so far. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA9nGPRx_Q1NTr5oAwkX7EBPGO4m6QOqIb2FS3u1D0zUqsalelfwasHJfiOZhsnYCZd6UfHtRGsMmDCjcq8c7E0M9scqvMjCOsnw22okw2T1vbGvELvJ3HMoqr40Iu4HkrGm4sDzH0GZ0m8kPt1HakEOHxdBVQ4gHVK6NY_B6lRBSG3pQKCIWYTYd0rFVR/s3860/IMG_2636.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2895" data-original-width="3860" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA9nGPRx_Q1NTr5oAwkX7EBPGO4m6QOqIb2FS3u1D0zUqsalelfwasHJfiOZhsnYCZd6UfHtRGsMmDCjcq8c7E0M9scqvMjCOsnw22okw2T1vbGvELvJ3HMoqr40Iu4HkrGm4sDzH0GZ0m8kPt1HakEOHxdBVQ4gHVK6NY_B6lRBSG3pQKCIWYTYd0rFVR/w500-h375/IMG_2636.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivHsS-AJdQzUMr2J8vflt0BXqHoIe3Jrk1-eSnZhZ8v05GhctPmWd-2xv4a3_pnHAQYpb_bwW4sgUSIFTIRvfnU9WmBci73_H-tkJge38SdcGYTZA8q3PvNZ-gmSFYRnL1G2JXJS1RXTd2k7zRjG4orK-6Anz9fm5ZD6hnjWD72qXVqerTiPFk2dzVbRgK/s4032/IMG_2635.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivHsS-AJdQzUMr2J8vflt0BXqHoIe3Jrk1-eSnZhZ8v05GhctPmWd-2xv4a3_pnHAQYpb_bwW4sgUSIFTIRvfnU9WmBci73_H-tkJge38SdcGYTZA8q3PvNZ-gmSFYRnL1G2JXJS1RXTd2k7zRjG4orK-6Anz9fm5ZD6hnjWD72qXVqerTiPFk2dzVbRgK/w500-h375/IMG_2635.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p>Those bleeding hearts are awesome. I did something I've never done before and tried Anchor spooled floss! The hearts called for DMC 221, so I took it to JoAnn's and eyeballed the closest thing I could find and it was Anchor 0045. Here's a comparison pic for you.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmQr5N-xulHn7t1XZAcfybOQml6S8_XqGMiCFD2gkzNK9AsoOurdLFWnUZIoc2lZv8ZoMbJrMquhiHhlm2MX9laCX5ENtT2CLcQi4X7Ij2S_lzAB-cgXq7pv4PgICs_Z2iZYau9d2E9b6VXWjrhOTLNgAVcNGUAh_N7E_0qe7PjHqIO0XupSRvZDFZ3i1D/s4032/IMG_2639.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmQr5N-xulHn7t1XZAcfybOQml6S8_XqGMiCFD2gkzNK9AsoOurdLFWnUZIoc2lZv8ZoMbJrMquhiHhlm2MX9laCX5ENtT2CLcQi4X7Ij2S_lzAB-cgXq7pv4PgICs_Z2iZYau9d2E9b6VXWjrhOTLNgAVcNGUAh_N7E_0qe7PjHqIO0XupSRvZDFZ3i1D/w500-h375/IMG_2639.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><p>At least for this experiment, I thought the Anchor was more vibrant with a very nice sheen to it. It was also "stiffer" or not as soft as the DMC, which I kind of preferred. It was also not nearly as fuzzy as DMC tends to be anymore. I usually wet and straighten the floss and use Thread Magic conditioner on it to try and cut down the fuzzy halo. </p><p>So there you go. Just my own opinion on this first try of the Anchor. I would definitely use it again and wish I had decided to that with the brown used for the alphabet in this piece. Oh well! Next time!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcA-xAp9VwukxkVDNLu1C4Rv7W3kAEPUamZwwceko4UKgNlt7T5y7jSFXkZsHWaDs_IMCnQY1yXSn29bydeTSkVUMZQyMzOjGTPFtSaHoxNmeCWawMQYnBQg1yJSwcU3Nc7WcA7RbBxGOWUxMeGZ5txbcfh7JT_P9Nl4ZKLU05U4mgwWIgOCSps0f2xzUp/s4032/IMG_2537.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcA-xAp9VwukxkVDNLu1C4Rv7W3kAEPUamZwwceko4UKgNlt7T5y7jSFXkZsHWaDs_IMCnQY1yXSn29bydeTSkVUMZQyMzOjGTPFtSaHoxNmeCWawMQYnBQg1yJSwcU3Nc7WcA7RbBxGOWUxMeGZ5txbcfh7JT_P9Nl4ZKLU05U4mgwWIgOCSps0f2xzUp/w375-h500/IMG_2537.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><p></p><p></p><p>My sweet kid turned 27 last month. My son will turn 27 next weekend, and I absolutely cannot believe it. He's really accomplished a great deal and I'm so proud of him. Love that kid.</p><p>Speaking of birthdays, my sweet little Jenny will be 17 at the end of the month! She likes to snooze a lot, but has a great appetite. Her joints give her some problems and I bought a light therapy tool I've started using today. It has great reviews and people have said it really helps their pups with arthritis, so I hope it can help her too. Her eyes and ears have given out on her the past year, but we accommodate that. And sometimes she will really run around the yard and actually fence fight with the dog next door, LOL. It's so hard seeing her getting older and all that comes with it, but I'm so so thankful we've had all this time together! Looking forward to as much more as we can get! <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIhZgmkVSmKqbDTwIoLYBfinwjhGuUExQwakesSVLVZW5yBRckEao1thKbe0cD06nygTi-gsC1pCAtRddTyvdjjb5E2wyWjjeEN2X7Fnpc-I1LEkluavVkiNe_FjQkzI24RgJmk9YOhqsRezOomJne6CWTvpFeZWZH4bfISn1idZtuJ3SDqG8jiJRh-A/s3264/IMG_20230522_224317_120.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3264" data-original-width="2448" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIhZgmkVSmKqbDTwIoLYBfinwjhGuUExQwakesSVLVZW5yBRckEao1thKbe0cD06nygTi-gsC1pCAtRddTyvdjjb5E2wyWjjeEN2X7Fnpc-I1LEkluavVkiNe_FjQkzI24RgJmk9YOhqsRezOomJne6CWTvpFeZWZH4bfISn1idZtuJ3SDqG8jiJRh-A/w375-h500/IMG_20230522_224317_120.jpg" width="375" /></a></div><p>Take care of yourselves and enjoy this warmer weather. The perennial garden is taking some shape with a few plants put in and the moonflowers are beginning to come out of the ground from seeds we planted a couple weeks ago. Ah, Spring!</p><p>My kids and I saw John Wick 4 this weekend. I absolutely love Keanu Reeves and these movies. I know, super violent, but I can't help it. Just love them. It's time for BED!"</p><p>Well, that's it for me now, but I hope you all have a lovely upcoming week! Temps back down in the 60's with some rainy days this week, but the plants need it, so it's all good. Temps have been awesome, no rain to mess up the days, lots of eating outside and listening to music. I should have worked this weekend, but couldn't bring myself to do it.</p><p>On to the stitching update! I had initially cross stitched the areas on the red flower that were supposed to be filled with french knots. I looked at it and mulled it over for about 20 minutes and decided I really wanted to do those french knots. So I brushed up on them in a little corner of the fabric and then went to town! There are 4 smyrna stitches right in the middle. The black-eyed susans also are filled with french knots. So pretty!<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSWBjMfgp-au6k2IV6H4oWnkIliOrJXmowZgsAp3VlxjaWoDre-sdIEQB1QVQpn2k8Hs9PBSBaAO9siPgYbF3K_pcHZEvfB7IZ-WZys9uG2CL9q6GgqT4POuTtIhY9A4-XjBe9NPEbfajnvvegPAWZe8X1HJACTavNJvLFkJkQVXrNfLzfmltvCACuOw/s4032/IMG_2355.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSWBjMfgp-au6k2IV6H4oWnkIliOrJXmowZgsAp3VlxjaWoDre-sdIEQB1QVQpn2k8Hs9PBSBaAO9siPgYbF3K_pcHZEvfB7IZ-WZys9uG2CL9q6GgqT4POuTtIhY9A4-XjBe9NPEbfajnvvegPAWZe8X1HJACTavNJvLFkJkQVXrNfLzfmltvCACuOw/w500-h375/IMG_2355.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNHeSZFZu40inVLjt0U_3sGDXXqo63wue8GmuWas3ikC_N7GN5hd8pmK4B3ZmlPorCsFUDD8Tpw3qtS7EOXQSLhZ3jy0VUTf1lL8Yos6qCKq631yvV96Ir-monokkIFHhsbk2Cfr5tMv4m4AyumTjRVGaIiQYaBocrF0YYvOS_6fscvDgQbIYhIO7Z4w/s4032/IMG_2357.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNHeSZFZu40inVLjt0U_3sGDXXqo63wue8GmuWas3ikC_N7GN5hd8pmK4B3ZmlPorCsFUDD8Tpw3qtS7EOXQSLhZ3jy0VUTf1lL8Yos6qCKq631yvV96Ir-monokkIFHhsbk2Cfr5tMv4m4AyumTjRVGaIiQYaBocrF0YYvOS_6fscvDgQbIYhIO7Z4w/w500-h375/IMG_2357.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbJs-9eeGfzCOvY9GzAjfcvHGxyblnLkvPQY48cIW7LI5B9x1eT1n6On91OK0gmR1q-Cjiqng71nouYNQszFrLrrSvn3GvBrnkhXX6stXOZgsENzvbTv698gJb8rmYGWE5t_tpRc1no5rgkP5YeQhIwZPgEZC-0j8SJPvcghBs-8EEjacgm9xN2AUIOg/s3822/IMG_2359.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2867" data-original-width="3822" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbJs-9eeGfzCOvY9GzAjfcvHGxyblnLkvPQY48cIW7LI5B9x1eT1n6On91OK0gmR1q-Cjiqng71nouYNQszFrLrrSvn3GvBrnkhXX6stXOZgsENzvbTv698gJb8rmYGWE5t_tpRc1no5rgkP5YeQhIwZPgEZC-0j8SJPvcghBs-8EEjacgm9xN2AUIOg/w500-h375/IMG_2359.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><p>Been enjoying this one so much! I can't wait to fill it with coneflowers, black eyed susans, daisies, and other beautiful things. We also put in the moonflowers and got some trellises for out front. We had tons of bees in them when we had them out back, so we'll change it up this year.</p><p>I really hope everyone has a fantastic upcoming week! I plan to stitch some more and see how far I can get this week. Be back then for more updates!</p><p></p>

We had family over, and had a great time. I made a couple new recipes and they seemed to go over very well! One of them was a chocolate mousse pie from <a href="https://lynn-southernwithatwist.blogspot.com/2023/02/chocolate-mousse-pie.html?m=1" target="_blank">HERE</a>. It earned rave reviews and I wish I had taken a pic like she had on her blog, but here is the full pie before I put it in the fridge for a day.</p><p>It was so so easy and fun to make! Hard to tell here, but if you use an 8 inch pie crust or pan (if you make your own crust), this thing is really an impressive height and gorgeous on a place with whipped cream. <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEX-dFSz-td-zd7O_SYZmT5E2eA4iXfW47yclzY70_xc7_jO-Mej5MnxC40isclfqXal0LG6Gl5E4Q_USsEH9jDdF7NvWAWssTFd-fBg11kqeXoWLm7IdDjwgGI0du7KUaR9qs0x6Oe_jl5Jkbb64Ffc_SmICMY1QVS_0QYOf4TbZeIIdfnzFgQmxCbA/s4032/IMG_2321.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEX-dFSz-td-zd7O_SYZmT5E2eA4iXfW47yclzY70_xc7_jO-Mej5MnxC40isclfqXal0LG6Gl5E4Q_USsEH9jDdF7NvWAWssTFd-fBg11kqeXoWLm7IdDjwgGI0du7KUaR9qs0x6Oe_jl5Jkbb64Ffc_SmICMY1QVS_0QYOf4TbZeIIdfnzFgQmxCbA/w300-h400/IMG_2321.HEIC" width="300" /></a></div><p></p><p>Got a bit more progress on my Summer Bouquet last week. It was kind of a slow work week, so I was able to sneak in some stitches after work. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhexAlMtXuxD9bAR5-Lvde8hq3z7E4aeHdVUjd52XyZUgMssWu40m8Xo2ME67JUh_rohruk51eX3THiBLd8mnTK2C7PvW9SSnsilYA8dwv7Gbr2OKxFEIbZTJahCV73abd1ombFXRlTcDppTE7TbsC4ceJsger85ARbX6WPq933MIlHiF7KFiBBjoLzKA/s4032/IMG_2324.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhexAlMtXuxD9bAR5-Lvde8hq3z7E4aeHdVUjd52XyZUgMssWu40m8Xo2ME67JUh_rohruk51eX3THiBLd8mnTK2C7PvW9SSnsilYA8dwv7Gbr2OKxFEIbZTJahCV73abd1ombFXRlTcDppTE7TbsC4ceJsger85ARbX6WPq933MIlHiF7KFiBBjoLzKA/w500-h375/IMG_2324.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii4rajb2_TObIq-zijKgULJ2M4gE9eUunFDrwb7pOSojMqK1ONkHT2bwFylX0_EmqtNm_nAUZxHi9j1sA2l3smarjyW6Vi4_830rjN97hojGTEt5xGQp1sic-YR-9u86iNd-Ow9DvUayHm0lJ6EEGDMs7aBJGaHMXx-BRx1yZaXD95goRxZQkqcxB8gQ/s4032/IMG_2325.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii4rajb2_TObIq-zijKgULJ2M4gE9eUunFDrwb7pOSojMqK1ONkHT2bwFylX0_EmqtNm_nAUZxHi9j1sA2l3smarjyW6Vi4_830rjN97hojGTEt5xGQp1sic-YR-9u86iNd-Ow9DvUayHm0lJ6EEGDMs7aBJGaHMXx-BRx1yZaXD95goRxZQkqcxB8gQ/w500-h375/IMG_2325.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><p>She's shaping up nicely! This one has also inspired me to do more of those "old" or vintage designs that I've held on to for years in favor of newer, shinier, ones. Don't get me wrong-I LOVE seeing and buying new designs! But I stitch so slow, I think I need to go back and pick out some of my favorites from over the many years I've been stitching and get to work!</p><p>How do you feel about older and vintage designs? I have so many that I really love and tons of old magazines too that have great designs in them that I have forgotten about over the years. </p><p>I hope your Easter was fabulous and everyone is enjoying lots of stitching and crafting time! See you soon with hopefully a lot more progress on my Summer Bouquet!</p><p></p><p></p>

I am trying to let go of my perfectionist nature a bit. Perfection is the enemy of good. And perfection is the enemy of DONE. I still waver between my idea of perfection and good <i>enough</i> for me. In between is OK!<p></p><p>For instance, the directions on the piece said that doing one stitch at a time is the ONLY way to achieve the desired effect on the black eyed susans. Well I really loathe doing "xxxx", and much prefer "////", then making the full cross stitch on the way back to the left. And as you can see, they turned out lovely with really nice variegation! Good <i>enough</i> for me!</p><p>I started crocheting a little tiny mouse and have the head done. And seriously, her face just melts me! Then at about 4am Friday morning, my father in law had to go to the hospital by ambulance with some breathing and heart issues. He soldiered on through, but needs some medication changed up and he should be good to go with maintenance of course! He will be 88 in June, and I think he's done quite well, especially after losing his wife last year. <p></p><p>I hope everyone reading this is doing well! It's been enjoyable so far, but I can tell you this: I have stitched with DMC 610 enough times to say it's my least favorite color to work with. It doesn't like to lay right. It's like it's twisted too much or shreds too much or something. I hate it! LOL</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFISeqYdj6hIhiuwwxdHhNIs6f2RAhxXC2CkPtWLGgBHEisvqZgEmiOZDF-LKvwz3wfnqTxfVPJN0mUUCSFsZXBYcDekEjO0gIXxKjGT84jx4cvLQ_iYihoTK57x2M4w-uBVSRBqTTFFRJY9YHcET0YxhEDwavzQ6ind13iqRtY4fV1hSy_UQovKtcaw/s4032/IMG_2262.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFISeqYdj6hIhiuwwxdHhNIs6f2RAhxXC2CkPtWLGgBHEisvqZgEmiOZDF-LKvwz3wfnqTxfVPJN0mUUCSFsZXBYcDekEjO0gIXxKjGT84jx4cvLQ_iYihoTK57x2M4w-uBVSRBqTTFFRJY9YHcET0YxhEDwavzQ6ind13iqRtY4fV1hSy_UQovKtcaw/w500-h375/IMG_2262.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkHIgTlBRLlgk1X12bp2knSkmUwEwTwbaPt43vN-Wq44uPAtDb64Y-wtrq2LOo1z7tdH5aJFu5o6hG1OZgTBw4S3csz2Wv6h8dxfwvimtZnHW5ioxvU2Gcf3iJar7rjAOHv4nBikAzjKhyej07cEhAD0ltymIQeAcI54_uF7Zf2NbzH-D08y8tDpJ_fg/s4032/IMG_2260.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkHIgTlBRLlgk1X12bp2knSkmUwEwTwbaPt43vN-Wq44uPAtDb64Y-wtrq2LOo1z7tdH5aJFu5o6hG1OZgTBw4S3csz2Wv6h8dxfwvimtZnHW5ioxvU2Gcf3iJar7rjAOHv4nBikAzjKhyej07cEhAD0ltymIQeAcI54_uF7Zf2NbzH-D08y8tDpJ_fg/w500-h375/IMG_2260.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p>I'm working from right to left on this one because it's so long horizontally, and I don't want to risk dragging my hands and needle over the front and back while working on the far side. Going good so far!</p><p>My mom and I made it to Woodlawn last week and the exhibit was really nice! The weather was really pretty and we had a great time. We hit up In Stitches, where I did not buy even one new pattern. Unbelievable, right? Especially right after market when all the new stuff was in! I did however, get two pieces of new fabric. I got some PTP aida in Ancient and Ale. I got the ale because I wasn't sure I was going to keep stitching Summer Bouquet on linen but I am going to after all.</p><p>I've always wanted to do something on Ancient! Also picked up the Whisky I needed and mom was able to get a floss she needed too for something she has in mind.<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgERAylqFYcF-ItARkZt3Ozw6CLxYK2-5jaX0rCD61O5FFBHeDoi2_ZZsjY6C_gHxBFRKEVIE00MxyYhRwf4sSTTphO8IRZoEXCpqdHcvFdSLl5BsAUUfk0B7i9AMwZUkMEB8U_-5ee7CtVE7-7yrpRzxi3AYciwQQS-JqipzoSXy81e7-oetTacQ1ggw/s4032/IMG_2264.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgERAylqFYcF-ItARkZt3Ozw6CLxYK2-5jaX0rCD61O5FFBHeDoi2_ZZsjY6C_gHxBFRKEVIE00MxyYhRwf4sSTTphO8IRZoEXCpqdHcvFdSLl5BsAUUfk0B7i9AMwZUkMEB8U_-5ee7CtVE7-7yrpRzxi3AYciwQQS-JqipzoSXy81e7-oetTacQ1ggw/w500-h375/IMG_2264.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiN6sjBck_TUCNODQUldqpQ7E6FwFm3yhHW29xQMTMzg8OMzEPQRWcgaebQugcADOKB3S1sXEBqMEv72X5yxU_w90q4XlOIQ-wkchS-blKc_WArR0ybOKfPNhtagZTVuyf5xTKXuBgMDbK1_C0FLJnbSqS1mXmXPef1Rw8IrxAXA9vprdtRFw2cj3_UqQ/s4032/IMG_2237.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiN6sjBck_TUCNODQUldqpQ7E6FwFm3yhHW29xQMTMzg8OMzEPQRWcgaebQugcADOKB3S1sXEBqMEv72X5yxU_w90q4XlOIQ-wkchS-blKc_WArR0ybOKfPNhtagZTVuyf5xTKXuBgMDbK1_C0FLJnbSqS1mXmXPef1Rw8IrxAXA9vprdtRFw2cj3_UqQ/w375-h500/IMG_2237.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcqBRwXJvoKKfRUUdRTZmbyrtraCFWnvYpED2J4OWM1c0w45kXudOTlkQdK9iDpAXF_pKNlRhDsJasuVJHQVEEe6QwKEgtqGe8It66CAMeF9hephRHucc4CRyOPDLewprbaDT85e5Q4W3vutklkrZDkQJwW_rUbEq292RK5bOqIPgvroihKyljFtmq-g/s4032/IMG_2235.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcqBRwXJvoKKfRUUdRTZmbyrtraCFWnvYpED2J4OWM1c0w45kXudOTlkQdK9iDpAXF_pKNlRhDsJasuVJHQVEEe6QwKEgtqGe8It66CAMeF9hephRHucc4CRyOPDLewprbaDT85e5Q4W3vutklkrZDkQJwW_rUbEq292RK5bOqIPgvroihKyljFtmq-g/w375-h500/IMG_2235.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpx2CwKx6_HemvRA6SeezyUTqKl--W5ADBDfIR9uELPAaIUHvuYnMAh3gKWwRbNJZvcucDLFgBpMgRteetJuMqETcJZflrJm1L5G8-l9QGyDBAMFA34z4VWYmmhbkmJ_VV7ybH_2HKfKBmm3wCJmBpUs6eIhyQO_wVV37Oyi21bwLFgnE4oY5wLHKFOw/s4032/IMG_2231.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpx2CwKx6_HemvRA6SeezyUTqKl--W5ADBDfIR9uELPAaIUHvuYnMAh3gKWwRbNJZvcucDLFgBpMgRteetJuMqETcJZflrJm1L5G8-l9QGyDBAMFA34z4VWYmmhbkmJ_VV7ybH_2HKfKBmm3wCJmBpUs6eIhyQO_wVV37Oyi21bwLFgnE4oY5wLHKFOw/w375-h500/IMG_2231.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKCdVYtaj28ojde3YdBJIRwHAe-lZt7tHH0I0jR9-ISC7kUmDobh61UQPXqhE7VDGVnm-P-6kGJHvgy3QxXPLCS1ndnYo1yt5nanUcyae6CEv2VWEyIW5eAt3iMcNCUWLCKy9ygdVpkXSwPIlpQdrw_4GibqvIuddUNtA6F3HNxmTWT5iy1uFxPdSfaw/s4032/IMG_2228.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKCdVYtaj28ojde3YdBJIRwHAe-lZt7tHH0I0jR9-ISC7kUmDobh61UQPXqhE7VDGVnm-P-6kGJHvgy3QxXPLCS1ndnYo1yt5nanUcyae6CEv2VWEyIW5eAt3iMcNCUWLCKy9ygdVpkXSwPIlpQdrw_4GibqvIuddUNtA6F3HNxmTWT5iy1uFxPdSfaw/w375-h500/IMG_2228.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitrbkBr4jkNJF-Z534hUvN7ol70NwYKpZIGvOuXgjwD65gwBysI4qWQ08EqHGXKgUEbWB44TUoUVV-yahGwzj3bAVdXmRJPdliJUmIwI-GWguhC466bAZGxlQUfjO2HDPW_CbYluW8ApHAfYovkifPgV97ts1uM6DMHNWcuQ5j_PRXYW03IeNI-ORIPQ/s4032/IMG_2223.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitrbkBr4jkNJF-Z534hUvN7ol70NwYKpZIGvOuXgjwD65gwBysI4qWQ08EqHGXKgUEbWB44TUoUVV-yahGwzj3bAVdXmRJPdliJUmIwI-GWguhC466bAZGxlQUfjO2HDPW_CbYluW8ApHAfYovkifPgV97ts1uM6DMHNWcuQ5j_PRXYW03IeNI-ORIPQ/w375-h500/IMG_2223.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><p></p><p>Just a few things that struck my fancy while we were there. Just so beautiful! We had such a nice time. Then I got to spend a nice afternoon with my daughter in law having lunch and chatting. Such a fun stitch and really pretty gothic type design and colors. Work was busy last week so it took me a bit longer than I anticipated. Quick stitch! </p><p>Did this on 14 ct. Fiddler's Aida with all called for DMC flosses. I signed it with a light color floss from the design so it didn't take away anything.<br /></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDBTdYZTFmFgNq5U-WwixOTttSXZy-oTAyXKXO8g7K0sqtgAwOLhmE62eVRI71AxmIwl9ujafOz2FURx570QCw5v9u45yD9fbGf34SyHtAeVushu9ZFv7qCNYg7XKBZL7LNwgaJCJPEBZdf0dBOWzhD_as8dKIfJMbpy9MOsbWkUAytdFR7_IFp5poJg/s3421/IMG_2200.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2566" data-original-width="3421" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDBTdYZTFmFgNq5U-WwixOTttSXZy-oTAyXKXO8g7K0sqtgAwOLhmE62eVRI71AxmIwl9ujafOz2FURx570QCw5v9u45yD9fbGf34SyHtAeVushu9ZFv7qCNYg7XKBZL7LNwgaJCJPEBZdf0dBOWzhD_as8dKIfJMbpy9MOsbWkUAytdFR7_IFp5poJg/w500-h375/IMG_2200.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ0QVUcZ5KnuFh57t_OCaKSPgEATzlZ7rAv-NjALSZq6AzxniTAvfBzGqI5IjgUEY9F3Z-xh2duWcVj_T9lGGJkYjL7xQviOfT21Z4i3DSbGUT5PXX8a30vpcQDLq3VVvrWE5n9L3JysPZxveCVt5nCmdDCIWXrCw000NskHMgUyXE1WbVPLiPKtsFFg/s4032/IMG_2199.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ0QVUcZ5KnuFh57t_OCaKSPgEATzlZ7rAv-NjALSZq6AzxniTAvfBzGqI5IjgUEY9F3Z-xh2duWcVj_T9lGGJkYjL7xQviOfT21Z4i3DSbGUT5PXX8a30vpcQDLq3VVvrWE5n9L3JysPZxveCVt5nCmdDCIWXrCw000NskHMgUyXE1WbVPLiPKtsFFg/w500-h375/IMG_2199.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3GLIxt3D6WDJ3nXTeHXHYk6kpPHy5eBTajhG-QtE3IaCzZhVep1EkSlCG_QeMqjrqalioNu1NlGVtuyhS1_Gj32chXZkAR7EeZX3iQgChagXfb1f0ZMSXnLrDXiT5sonhZL1IQNxBkBP5Y9AKaKc5W1Bj5To9-BjvQ6YeR94mxXSN8qSAokwHBx8_ng/s4032/IMG_2205.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3GLIxt3D6WDJ3nXTeHXHYk6kpPHy5eBTajhG-QtE3IaCzZhVep1EkSlCG_QeMqjrqalioNu1NlGVtuyhS1_Gj32chXZkAR7EeZX3iQgChagXfb1f0ZMSXnLrDXiT5sonhZL1IQNxBkBP5Y9AKaKc5W1Bj5To9-BjvQ6YeR94mxXSN8qSAokwHBx8_ng/w500-h375/IMG_2205.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><p>OK, now I am so excited to start my next project. I've wanted to do this one for years. I have collected a few other of the Cedar Hill "bouquet" or floral projects. They are so pretty. That is one of the designers I really miss so much. This one is Summer Bouquet. I'm stitching it on 28 ct. Picture This Plus "Ale" linen. I think it'll look fabulous on that. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLLNngKhERkMFfNlC3OOcPpcJzWwMnx0YWbNlFTrrZ1wu1BeoJv_G8cSkp74DDPOGgQgJWNL76KPkNynL4W4zRwIOo2Xzz18_feWajKjwsi6Xj0a4Bt53CWGEydniq5FPF-D6Lp2DWnuTaMcTK99F92nL_zImUJFXKEF8gcGafSCRNzEr1pigRe0lUyQ/s4032/IMG_2212.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLLNngKhERkMFfNlC3OOcPpcJzWwMnx0YWbNlFTrrZ1wu1BeoJv_G8cSkp74DDPOGgQgJWNL76KPkNynL4W4zRwIOo2Xzz18_feWajKjwsi6Xj0a4Bt53CWGEydniq5FPF-D6Lp2DWnuTaMcTK99F92nL_zImUJFXKEF8gcGafSCRNzEr1pigRe0lUyQ/w500-h375/IMG_2212.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><p>This one uses all DMC save for one, which is for the Black Eyed Susans on the right of the design. The colors are so yummy. I'm saving the bunny for last. Using two strands of floss over 14 ct Fiddler's Aida. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNeLXXUzkw3A6huThk-QSKWfMaY30yEhnSJtIf0gG31peAC5Rl4nRig9nXuRkFh-yuiaSglFjxG_pYOnZrEnKF5kZnRNm_bbR0TErxasvH5CdjmZjuuUU4JG3WIsre4JsG1zc0RIo5rr-pohZwGMR6u5N0SQCLAqLTYRLtHls-88egto5NEXz7HoF6RA/s4032/IMG_2185.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNeLXXUzkw3A6huThk-QSKWfMaY30yEhnSJtIf0gG31peAC5Rl4nRig9nXuRkFh-yuiaSglFjxG_pYOnZrEnKF5kZnRNm_bbR0TErxasvH5CdjmZjuuUU4JG3WIsre4JsG1zc0RIo5rr-pohZwGMR6u5N0SQCLAqLTYRLtHls-88egto5NEXz7HoF6RA/w500-h375/IMG_2185.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><br />Really enjoying working on this one. Showing a bit more yellow-y than it actually is, but you get the jist!<p></p><p>I also forgot to share a couple of snow ladies I gave to my mom and my daughter in law for "Galentine's Day"! We celebrated our first official one a couple weeks ago and had a great time. It is so fun. I'm going to concentrate on cross stitching for a while though because there are so many things I want to accomplish that I'd like to get at least a few of them done this year. But I also want to make a few more primitive dolls, so I'll do that in between stitching I think. Now, to find time to crochet....</p><p>Black Bunny is working up pretty quick, so if I keep at it, I'll see you back here soon!</p><p>Until next time,</p><p></p>

Me! Me!</p><p>Been a while for an update so here it goes.</p><p>I need a quickie, lol. So I'm going to start with this sweet pattern by <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/tuskandcardinal?ref=yr_purchases" target="_blank">TuskandCardinal</a> on Etsy. If you've not been in her shop, go NOW. I'll wait.</p><p>Terrible pic 1 - yep, it's straight off my computer. How sweet is that little black bunny with his red eye?? I was missing ONE floss for this sweetie and went to Michael's today and they had it. I bought a bunch of other floss too and guess which one didn't make it home? It must have fallen out of my cart on the way to the register. Drats.<br /></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfAhRQ0qPkuhmLqgEubIdZHDl-UImMzIudNLlDgm2WuJAAfnMABS3iP1iZ3LG3HD8_pU7QDaXZpIW2_i207sijQRhpLCKA0PtRXmy1mE4stPWj6PZhGwM1h1uYvp0TWxWbFlgKnCA4nekFX4qvP5AlkZMuxu9nuW_7tZaAmMVpFu6d0bAGNhxLp5i4lQ/s3086/IMG_2175.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3086" data-original-width="2315" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfAhRQ0qPkuhmLqgEubIdZHDl-UImMzIudNLlDgm2WuJAAfnMABS3iP1iZ3LG3HD8_pU7QDaXZpIW2_i207sijQRhpLCKA0PtRXmy1mE4stPWj6PZhGwM1h1uYvp0TWxWbFlgKnCA4nekFX4qvP5AlkZMuxu9nuW_7tZaAmMVpFu6d0bAGNhxLp5i4lQ/w375-h500/IMG_2175.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPRlye0PIUIt8QdwWD4pdmen_BNDGqodv221hi8d24MNk76V-lJ-tKw4K10n9M-Qv0Za3Z80Kdko7QhgbeMo7zqr7pB3dL04ecnVazIzumxLn4Ue0XgATIgWiA2qMo6v-y2QK-qzrWZC3uA_qm8ASEGGqpkAL_vSp84SwTzILpvqRmuPRgG04DQr0Qiw/s4032/IMG_2176.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPRlye0PIUIt8QdwWD4pdmen_BNDGqodv221hi8d24MNk76V-lJ-tKw4K10n9M-Qv0Za3Z80Kdko7QhgbeMo7zqr7pB3dL04ecnVazIzumxLn4Ue0XgATIgWiA2qMo6v-y2QK-qzrWZC3uA_qm8ASEGGqpkAL_vSp84SwTzILpvqRmuPRgG04DQr0Qiw/w375-h500/IMG_2176.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><p>Terrible pic 2, above. Doing this sweet little design on good old 14 ct. Fiddler's by DMC. Believe me the fabric is not ombre. I took it outside and the sun must have distorted the colors. As promised, those flosses are about 25-30 years old. I have normally been replacing my flosses when I start a new design and putting them on all matching plastic bobbins, but I just wanted to hurry and get started with this one, so I put it off.<br /></p><p>I am following up this little quickie design with this one, which I have so long admired by Cedar Hill. Gosh I absolutely loved their designs. They make me feel so nostalgic for what was going on in my life when they released all their floral beauties. I still need to collect a few I am missing. When I find them in my stash unloading groups, I try to snap them up as I can.</p><p>Terrible pic 3, here we come!<br /></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhy4u2Ae3-dX5gURvlW8Y37X67jQ0AUP0DZXfLENQyMKuohWT_TDGu8jZZBWR5IJzhAhZXgIiuWuRcCPTew3PEpXpBGniOVGjtOpnAcjsp7xKWtGOgLwIc58ibCyCxSXYpzIaPTirEkzCqj7HIPQWmGvqzuOUu8w7nQDY7inu8S3NvPq8tJabqslYukdQ/s4032/IMG_2178.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhy4u2Ae3-dX5gURvlW8Y37X67jQ0AUP0DZXfLENQyMKuohWT_TDGu8jZZBWR5IJzhAhZXgIiuWuRcCPTew3PEpXpBGniOVGjtOpnAcjsp7xKWtGOgLwIc58ibCyCxSXYpzIaPTirEkzCqj7HIPQWmGvqzuOUu8w7nQDY7inu8S3NvPq8tJabqslYukdQ/w500-h375/IMG_2178.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><p>It's unseasonable warm this week and Feb has been so fickle here in VA. Forty some degrees one day, then we're expecting a high of 80 in just a few days! I hope it all evens out soon.</p><p>I've not done any Project Life this year, and need to catch up on the last half of the year for last year's book. When my kiddos moved out, the steam went out of it for me for a while. I'll get it back hopefully.</p><p>Hopefully, everyone reading this is having a lovely Fool's Spring with it's warmer than usual weather and enjoying lots of stitching. </p><p>Be back soon with more stitching and babble! Until then,</p><p> <a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54491/60/966FAE44D11E6D74F545A851B55F45BF.png" style="background: transparent; border: 0px none;" /></a>

First finish of 2023! I don't even think I had any stitching finishes last year. But after looking back and seeing all I was dealing with, it's OK. </p><p>So here is Pineberry Lane's Tansy Yarrow Rue. It is on 16 ct Aida, which I hand dyed myself and using one strand of floss. I had a better one than I deserve. My kids got me the sweetest and most thoughtful gifts, new Pandora charms, books. They got us a gorgeous book of photos from the wedding last year. So thoughtful and beautiful.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-VcdxzQeue2ATtDgL4tZP4lm67LIHbNrfvzr25fQIdQbOfjbt47gMFPrGutiAQ_jqTuMaukAPXr732m876RBwCahqV5h0aF5NufS-jhbgT5gnq7Mla1Q_dhfa4-aGg4lXVQm_guzeHLiK8aHdhsbwBpwv0uLua-D1IX0Y_uRpljIUVbgR7rEfwIWpjg/s4032/IMG_2107.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-VcdxzQeue2ATtDgL4tZP4lm67LIHbNrfvzr25fQIdQbOfjbt47gMFPrGutiAQ_jqTuMaukAPXr732m876RBwCahqV5h0aF5NufS-jhbgT5gnq7Mla1Q_dhfa4-aGg4lXVQm_guzeHLiK8aHdhsbwBpwv0uLua-D1IX0Y_uRpljIUVbgR7rEfwIWpjg/w500-h375/IMG_2107.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><p>I was so thankful to get the embroidery/applique book by Maggie Bonanomi. It is filled with such gorgeous prim and homey designs. I also LOVE this needle felting book! Oh I really need to do the Corgi and the Jack Russel! Needle felting seems easy enough and I should tackle this one in 2023. </p><p>Somehow, I buckled down and made myself another doll I'd been wanting to make. She turned out great! I can't say enough nice things about the designer of these cuties. Her gorgeous patterns can be found on Etsy at <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/libertycreek?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=1217768508">Liberty Creek Primitives</a>. The patterns are adorable, and her instructions are fantastic. Very easy for a beginner too (if you have a basic understanding of sewing)! This little sweetie is called "Rejoice" in her store. I need to add a red stuffed heart or stocking for her to hold. Not sure which at this time!<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhx1yA8sgHpckSrTGZ23Sd92vbQdjWU_WwlqdfzoddYM0S5zfZ0R8Ul13fwQhq1Cw6sATecGTUG5XmhG0-B4vVp9Dv6vwkpLV6caNjOxmuMqHvZzz1Va9wilxUbPPrJqn4mKLqOpFmMbu_rl8uwtTbp1j42sTbr7V3COuGYW1p3xFgnNA8gieGGMEVarQ/s4032/IMG_2100.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhx1yA8sgHpckSrTGZ23Sd92vbQdjWU_WwlqdfzoddYM0S5zfZ0R8Ul13fwQhq1Cw6sATecGTUG5XmhG0-B4vVp9Dv6vwkpLV6caNjOxmuMqHvZzz1Va9wilxUbPPrJqn4mKLqOpFmMbu_rl8uwtTbp1j42sTbr7V3COuGYW1p3xFgnNA8gieGGMEVarQ/w375-h500/IMG_2100.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW1bjGkZ5tIzUSxi100sMONiVkNf03xvCyyht-VI507BDeOqegM_8IiSRg8BNMmYHrnd06OxJgOL0aBMMZj-TSwjYzAIaRHxAskNxuaLlkRWXyJ7EQkMyT7OlIgn00u__a_FdYWNYRvU9EETHv1TN3iYLkbNU2_AkauVKHydOQoPLbQfnP4Qvy5_nLAQ/s4032/IMG_2102.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjW1bjGkZ5tIzUSxi100sMONiVkNf03xvCyyht-VI507BDeOqegM_8IiSRg8BNMmYHrnd06OxJgOL0aBMMZj-TSwjYzAIaRHxAskNxuaLlkRWXyJ7EQkMyT7OlIgn00u__a_FdYWNYRvU9EETHv1TN3iYLkbNU2_AkauVKHydOQoPLbQfnP4Qvy5_nLAQ/w375-h500/IMG_2102.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><p></p><p>I picked up my needle for a few minutes this week, but not even enough progress to show. I could have cried! </p><p>This is something else I've always wanted to learn to do. And now I have someone to show me everything about it! WOW. To say I was surprised is an understatement! I'm delving in next week and continuing the journey I started earlier this year. I have new challenges and things to overcome, but I'm looking forward to getting some of these things behind me and moving on. Lots to do.</p><p>Please don't put any undue burdens on yourself to do more, be more, etc. Just be. If you have a new goal, by all means, go for it. But I think a lot of times we set ourselves up for disappointment and feelings of inadequacy by trying to come up with too many goals, you know? </p><p>We've had lots of things to deal with this year, including the loss of my mother in law. It's been a rough one in many ways. But also a good one in many ways. We carry all of this with us into 2023. My main goal is to handle whatever comes my way with patience, and as much grace as I can muster. Be calm, and carry on!</p><p>I hope you all have a creative and happy and healthy New Year! I will see you soon with more stitching stuff! Take care of one another and stay safe. </p><p>Until next time,</p><p></p>

Nice to sit down and type for a bit after a couple days on my feet.
Thanksgiving was really nice. Small gathering with my father in law and my son and daughter in law. They called in the morning to say how strange it was to wake up on Thanksgiving and not be in our home, hearing all the goings on in the morning, etc. It was equally weird for me not having them here. I miss them so much! But they <i>are</i> just a couple streets over and I'm very thankful for that! </p><p>Got only a tiny bit of work done on Tansy, by Pineberry Lane. When I have another block of time, I should be able to nearly finish it. I absolutely love her designs. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBIiWmpAQw1sBs-2a4K9eWTUEHt1B8WWm_I0Far0WofNc5YBl8wifmobaxuHv0lr5-p2Nq_FNcSarpp59GfFWQBRCT1sw6_A0awfboOGNusSWaRtuaQDpOPKtD9Wn_xq2KByEB76h7S3ozOkZOz_X7aJNMYMQZZtCi6YhiyEZrDAn2RVGKU1HSy4s0tg/s3024/IMG_2061.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2266" data-original-width="3024" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBIiWmpAQw1sBs-2a4K9eWTUEHt1B8WWm_I0Far0WofNc5YBl8wifmobaxuHv0lr5-p2Nq_FNcSarpp59GfFWQBRCT1sw6_A0awfboOGNusSWaRtuaQDpOPKtD9Wn_xq2KByEB76h7S3ozOkZOz_X7aJNMYMQZZtCi6YhiyEZrDAn2RVGKU1HSy4s0tg/w500-h375/IMG_2061.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p> I forgot to show some stash I acquired a month or so ago when me and my mom drove up to In Stitches on a spur of the moment one weekend.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKhi8HazsKnuq0LPtm6hu_vqtuGLa2C56doj1XDUxXNSWE3fenAf6IL9v-v3Myhe1LGB1FpioxJwG-0g-pzC3JKuFqyJVcZ8yWSh72faOg2JumvIYx4OHb2uwNa5sJzVp1w2jm38Pi9Vy5MUbJr0xgM0YqeNphYp-UWtY4RnMTyxxBhDa3vGAORMh27Q/s4032/IMG_2027.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKhi8HazsKnuq0LPtm6hu_vqtuGLa2C56doj1XDUxXNSWE3fenAf6IL9v-v3Myhe1LGB1FpioxJwG-0g-pzC3JKuFqyJVcZ8yWSh72faOg2JumvIYx4OHb2uwNa5sJzVp1w2jm38Pi9Vy5MUbJr0xgM0YqeNphYp-UWtY4RnMTyxxBhDa3vGAORMh27Q/w500-h375/IMG_2027.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><p>I could have gone really overboard, but this was it. Pretty proud of this one! I'm not a stranger to a sewing machine and I love the one I have. It's an old Singer that my husband got for me at Woolworth's (believe it or not), back in about 1988-89. Knock on wood, it's a workhorse! And it's served me well for all my crafty needs this whole time.</p><p>There are so many wonderful Etsy designers out there with primitive patterns and cross stitch and all kinds of other things. We were pretty low key here, with just sitting on the front porch handing out candy. Had a bit of rain, but it cleared up and it was a nice night overall. </p><p>We did some of our regular holiday ritual things, like going to King's Dominion a few times. We decided there really isn't anything about Halloween we don't love and that Christmas could learn a lot from Halloween. </p><p>I wanted to stop stitching on the patriotic BBD I had going. I'm not feeling very patriotic lately, and since Autumn began, I wasn't feeling it anyways. I wanted to start something with Autumn colors, but not necessarily Halloween, because I knew I would be stitching it after Halloween since I am so slow. So I began Pineberry Lane's Tansy Yarrow Rue. Perfect. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzXwCC44enhBfLhTETJTPjtMKdJGswSOML8vSODsbDNOiw0gs2BzpFboMQyjrcpOSy2yzgbypKZF_ddBff4pUg38UkEcCKZAc7QifxvIvs_z04-enb8joK0_FsZBS9VRkB30YZgmubaNZfWS6qM1OlD1WkiSVHYWaCPtgbXKIJ9QZPz4ZSS3eREP8DrA/s4032/IMG_2016.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzXwCC44enhBfLhTETJTPjtMKdJGswSOML8vSODsbDNOiw0gs2BzpFboMQyjrcpOSy2yzgbypKZF_ddBff4pUg38UkEcCKZAc7QifxvIvs_z04-enb8joK0_FsZBS9VRkB30YZgmubaNZfWS6qM1OlD1WkiSVHYWaCPtgbXKIJ9QZPz4ZSS3eREP8DrA/w500-h375/IMG_2016.HEIC" width="500" /></a></div><br /> I hand dyed some 16 ct. aida and it turned out great. Great colors and simple design. Doesn't mean I'm still not a slow stitcher. In my defense, work has been horrific. I never used that word about work before. I've been there for 15 years and some recent changes have put me square in the "not afraid to use the word horrific" category. Ugh.<p></p><p>One of our very favorite places to eat has closed permanently. Joe's Crab Shack. I was going to meet my mom there last week for lunch. We'd just been recently too! Pulled up and got this in return. No name, empty parking lot, dark restaurant. BOO. I'm very sad about this. We spent so many great times in here with family. Lots of good memories.<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXTpP02tH-IhWCuchSxgkClioKkh1850IeIc99wSBYlp9eC3O28vyUjn-rOSDOiJda9yQUE1uTFQHLVgR995_YEB80Jt0Axi6I6g0zCgtg4NF0Fz4YzEwxuZuzajUcIsYTw9Q8vsKtcTUnU9AaDXbCz62J-t7I9zv0b3SB4SsevtvQxVfwC1rbz8w1hg/s3918/IMG_2015.HEIC" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3918" data-original-width="2939" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXTpP02tH-IhWCuchSxgkClioKkh1850IeIc99wSBYlp9eC3O28vyUjn-rOSDOiJda9yQUE1uTFQHLVgR995_YEB80Jt0Axi6I6g0zCgtg4NF0Fz4YzEwxuZuzajUcIsYTw9Q8vsKtcTUnU9AaDXbCz62J-t7I9zv0b3SB4SsevtvQxVfwC1rbz8w1hg/w375-h500/IMG_2015.HEIC" width="375" /></a></div><p></p><p>As I said, we went to King's Dominion and had a lot of fun. Well, almost to finish. I need some paper and double sided tape, so I had Hobby Lobby close up the back, but I did everything else and I'm pretty proud of myself! </p><p>The design is Thistles and Spells by Stacy Nash. This is one of the things that had been sitting around in a bag just waiting for me to do it for over a year. UGH! But I rolled up my sleeves and did it. I used pins to attach it to the foam core. I have to say, it came out pretty perfect. I took about an hour and a half and readjusted once. I'm hoping I can do it a bit quicker next time around.</p><p>Last week, I went in with another piece and ordered a frame and mat and all the rest. As much as I love sending out my stitching for professional finishing at In Stitches, I simply cannot afford to do it. The cost is outrageous (for me anyways). It's always gorgeous, don't get me wrong. But wow. I'm always in sticker shock when I drop something off there.</p><p>After I get comfortable enough with Aida, I would like to attempt one of my linen pieces, and I may even try lacing. It's WDW Bark. I don't have a lot of it, so I stopped after a few stitches and placed an order for more. I didn't want to run out and have it look different later on, which I know it would because this skein is years old. The colors don't stay the same over the years with hand dyed flosses, so I just want it to look consistent. Dang I am a slow one with stitching lately.</p><p>It's right about the UN-official start to Autumn, so I splurged on some magazines. I thought about getting the Halloween Ornament issue, but I (gasp!) didn't really see anything that blew my hair back in that issue. SO lucky.</p><p>Lately I have been really busy getting medical things taken care of. Between that and work, spare time has been slim lately. I am crocheting something up while I wait for my floss to arrive, but not much. As my father in law likes to say "getting mature sucks". LOL. In some respects yes. I just never thought I'd be at the doctor so much! Hey, whatever it takes to get back on track in my life, count me in---I'll do it!</p><p>I'm looking forward to the official start of Fall, and until then, I'm going to pretend it is here already. That means, fresh apples, ALL the Bath and Body Works stuff, pumpkin spice lattes (yes, I'm that basic), and continuing to add to my Autumn playlist. Yes, I have playlists for all the seasons. :)</p><p>Hopefully my floss order will be in soon and I may have ordered a few stash items too. Somehow that $2.50 skein of floss turned in to $58. Anyhoooo, next time I post it'll hopefully be with that leaf being finished!</p><p>Take care and until then,</p><p></p><p></p><p></p>

Again, this is Wichelt, 32 count that I dyed myself and using 1x2 here.<br /></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1zCNu9CBACwRgmh-CHAS5WFp4eTGtRUNeI3QJh1I-wojqZoejUtcSzrg72NS-sIupfogfk0ZlLG7lJmD-dgGBOeegH--ZWEFUXzamGJlpCrbMs4Cm7S3kCE3XzARymAaoZIydDQRgdRwE6GB8n_VsJoeGaYd25Bv4zQ5fyUL8IaHOWXFywIsEJn0j7g/s4032/20220730_132516.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1zCNu9CBACwRgmh-CHAS5WFp4eTGtRUNeI3QJh1I-wojqZoejUtcSzrg72NS-sIupfogfk0ZlLG7lJmD-dgGBOeegH--ZWEFUXzamGJlpCrbMs4Cm7S3kCE3XzARymAaoZIydDQRgdRwE6GB8n_VsJoeGaYd25Bv4zQ5fyUL8IaHOWXFywIsEJn0j7g/w500-h375/20220730_132516.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8KizWQRbyim-l1dVe2cVKCtaNGDybiFFrE1g_cb6qNRuEgcxHchcXNCLQRS57TINgpCzIHLje7gIRqlrIkCT2-T2qm70VQ42jClqzXQtMlfwleYm71TRlx4v6d8MbD0gv0Kayq3G6zBVib5nqNyXEjUHH9N46-X3AaXQhaGcLYFtm7Hq3oL9gAbuGxw/s4032/20220730_132529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8KizWQRbyim-l1dVe2cVKCtaNGDybiFFrE1g_cb6qNRuEgcxHchcXNCLQRS57TINgpCzIHLje7gIRqlrIkCT2-T2qm70VQ42jClqzXQtMlfwleYm71TRlx4v6d8MbD0gv0Kayq3G6zBVib5nqNyXEjUHH9N46-X3AaXQhaGcLYFtm7Hq3oL9gAbuGxw/w500-h375/20220730_132529.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><p></p><p>Also met another goal in the midst of all the heat this past week and finished Oliver the Octopus. And yes, he might only have seven legs. There was a mishap tying one of them on, and I didn't feel like hooking up another one. Super cute nonetheless! You can pick up with sweet pattern <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/711837412/hakelanleitung-krake-kalle-qualle?ref=yr_purchases" target="_blank">HERE</a>. He was pretty easy and I'm sure I'll do another one at some point.<br /></p><p>Hopefully everyone is staying cool and drying out after the rains and getting lots of stitching done. I've been doing a pre-Autumn clean out of my office craft stuff and bookshelves. They needed a good dusting for sure. Feels good to take care of some of that kind of stuff. Also cleaned out the hall shoe/coat closet. </p><p>I dont' know what it is about the Autumn season that makes me want to clean out and throw away things. I do look forward to it though. It's kind of a break from the everyday chores and other things happening. Kind of a palate cleanser I guess. It helps me focus on work and my health more too, being able to look around and see everything nice and clean and organized!</p><p>Take care of yourselves out there, and see you soon with more stitching!</p><p>Until then,</p><p><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54491/60/966FAE44D11E6D74F545A851B55F45BF.png" style="background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%; border: 0px none;" /></a></p>Tammyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11001167831077281848noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7678904437450117860.post-20991318790749970832022-07-23T12:08:00.001-04:002022-07-23T12:19:35.620-04:00BBD Union Forever Update!<p>I really could have had this thing done by now. I've changed fabrics so much, and I'm sticking with this one! The aida seemed to be chewing up the floss too much. The overdyeds aren't as sturdy or thick as DMC, and I have found that I have a bit of trouble with them when working on aida. Maybe it's just me! <br /></p><p>Using a piece of my own dyed Wichelt 32 count linen, one strand of floss over two. The fabric is a mottled gray, and I really like it. <br /></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPItF_KzGr2QDzvnB3fmzKMHnNWHUlktw9D_y_mE2LeF3lZyWPt0jaP4YftHvD4bSLDr5EKWHhplI5LtDZKTEJvCGClYylneHH2zG5iMWqIjIjvzc1oyrPMTZAZLM-QekfxxhrvXhhpitvUXnA6H0WT9mp7sgMSSvH8hsuvIFIPq8jB-Ah8qb7gm9GZQ/s4032/20220722_161122.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPItF_KzGr2QDzvnB3fmzKMHnNWHUlktw9D_y_mE2LeF3lZyWPt0jaP4YftHvD4bSLDr5EKWHhplI5LtDZKTEJvCGClYylneHH2zG5iMWqIjIjvzc1oyrPMTZAZLM-QekfxxhrvXhhpitvUXnA6H0WT9mp7sgMSSvH8hsuvIFIPq8jB-Ah8qb7gm9GZQ/w500-h375/20220722_161122.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9j_ZMSyMxM0HiSo1GEXiGsZuvmC6gG0iJ4EMN-yRFk92EghIyNqJXVLJMae4Vx0QYTHyER8YPsRTzSgKFoCv_NfQH2YtXdp8ZU7RMxLGyiJelYZoj8L3XSrIUpk5-43bYawFK5qj-KpDpMO78TMzWuCRgF7N4BVgktjSQ1XuPAuyb_mDsL4HruAPkAw/s4032/20220722_161132.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="375" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9j_ZMSyMxM0HiSo1GEXiGsZuvmC6gG0iJ4EMN-yRFk92EghIyNqJXVLJMae4Vx0QYTHyER8YPsRTzSgKFoCv_NfQH2YtXdp8ZU7RMxLGyiJelYZoj8L3XSrIUpk5-43bYawFK5qj-KpDpMO78TMzWuCRgF7N4BVgktjSQ1XuPAuyb_mDsL4HruAPkAw/w500-h375/20220722_161132.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><p>We've had so many changes here in the past month. My kiddos moved out at the end of June and I miss them like crazy. They are still in the neighborhood though, and I do love that!<br /></p><p>They went and picked up their long awaited puppy just a couple days after that. His name is Franklin, and he's the smartest, most adorable Corgi pup on the planet. He's only about 10lbs in this pic, but in just two weeks, he's a little over 13lbs! Precious!<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCy3iYMupolufLK_OI61HGMkRK1Eg7OUFNETTqfk0HyQMVciuCKjxrhrgu7zNdMvccAYxE5TzX6EZzBygwKbDzbAIXQrDynpbb5w53NapCRsnJRmde6MWo823ugSs_axprnV32Oslrl45AyVcUhmkfLSM27Ai4kO0KAu5D8XFcr1UjqrDHDupOeHQN8Q/s4032/20220714_155323.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCy3iYMupolufLK_OI61HGMkRK1Eg7OUFNETTqfk0HyQMVciuCKjxrhrgu7zNdMvccAYxE5TzX6EZzBygwKbDzbAIXQrDynpbb5w53NapCRsnJRmde6MWo823ugSs_axprnV32Oslrl45AyVcUhmkfLSM27Ai4kO0KAu5D8XFcr1UjqrDHDupOeHQN8Q/w375-h500/20220714_155323.jpg" width="375" /></a></div><p>My own little Jenny turned SIXTEEN on June 29th! So unlike me, lol. I hope that changes soon. There are some super cute things out there I'd love to have, but haven't properly shopped for cross stitch in a long time.</p><p>Wishing I could enjoy some of the more traditional aspects of the season, but MYGODTHEHEAT!!!!!!!!!!!! Judging from the maps they are showing on the news every night, I'm assuming whoever is reading this is dealing with some kind of high temps as well. It's so crazy to see roads buckling, fires spontaneously bursting forth and lives in danger by the hundreds of thousands with this heat. It doesn't look like there's any going back either. So we will just have to be dealing with this kind of stuff going forward. This is why I am an Autumn kind of person! <br /></p><p>I hope everyone who comes across this blog is doing well, and getting lots of stitching in! I'm going to keep diligently working on Union Forever and try to make a real dent in it over this next week. <br /></p><p>See you soon, and until then, <br /></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54491/60/966FAE44D11E6D74F545A851B55F45BF.png" style="background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%; border: 0px none;" /></a></p>Tammyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11001167831077281848noreply@blogger.com4
