Final Halloween Farewell and a near finish!

Wow, what a week it's been in my house. Our party was a huge success, but it did rain. :( However, it cleared up around dark so that the kids could go out back and kick up their heels. Kick up the heels they did for SURE! Most of the night time outdoor shots came out blurry, but rest assured everyone had a fabu time.

Here's my little "Jason" on Halloween. He insisted on a chainsaw--though Jason was never known to carry a chainsaw (was he?). This kid has had "I did it my way" written all over him since the day he was born.

Now, you Shepherd's Bush fans will know full well that I have to finish two more rows at the bottom but we're well into November and I'm calling this Little Witch DONE. I will finish the rows, but wanted to show her off here first. She was fun, but I gotta say, I'm not the biggest fan of the silks. That's probably akin to blasphemy in the stitching world but, there, I said it! I do love Shepherd's Bush though. Oh, and I added another little rose at the top of the vine instead of the pumpkin button she came with......

So, there you have it. I'll be back real soon with another start. But today I'm going to In Stitches to see if I can get a match for my Headache Fairy. I need to finish her too! Have a great Sunday everyone. Thx for stopping in!

  5. I love your little witch and I am with you on the silks, I'm not a fan but the less stitchers who know about that the better, shhh.

  6. Your project is beautiful.

I'm right there with you about the silks. They stick to my skin no matter how carefully I trim the hangnails and moisturize.

But, they DO look so pretty.

  8. I had a great time at your party! The girls really enjoyed themselves. I didn't realize the witch was in silk (I thought you used one stand of DMC instead of two). Congrats for trying silk!! I love using silk...I use it a lot for blackwork.

  11. I am with you in calling the SB a finish~minus the last two row's! That's exactly where I finished my piece too. LOL I just couldn't bring myself to do the next "fancy" stitching, then contemplated just leaving that section off and finishing the bottom with the X's. Might still do that yet though. Will take all of 5 minutes, maybe. Tee Hee

Anywhoo, your Little Witch is beautiful! Will you frame her in the same mat that they've framed her in?

So happy to hear that your party turned out as nicely as it did. such a shame it's come and gone already though, huh? Takes so long to get ready for something like that and then just like that, it's already over with. But ahhh, you now have next year's to start planning and looking forward to.

  12. I am glad to hear your party was a success. Little witch is sooo cute. I have a love hate relationship with silks, lol.
I hate to see haloween end so soon.
Another start... how exciting, can't wait to see what it is.

  13. She turned out adorable, and I really like the adjustment you made with the extra rose instead of the pumpkin. It looks so much more dainty and balanced. Have fun putting in the last bit of stitching. Glad your party turned out so well. We had great weather here for Halloween also.

  15. Little Witch is looking just fine, with or without the last two rows. I've got my LW framed with Jill Rensel's mat. I'll try to take a photo of it in good light and post a pic on my blog for you to see.
