I tried. Oh yeah, and a give-a-way!

I tried. You know, I really did. Despite the past couple weeks of *trying*, I simply could not get into my latest project, Fright, by Shepherd's Bush (see below post or my sidebar for pic). Does anyone want this kit? Just leave a comment saying you'd like to enter the give-a-way, and I'll draw a name on Friday, April 24th. My inability to get this thing going can be your gain! I did do the tiny pumpkin and the star at the top of the design, but they can be easily removed to get your own stitches in there. Comes with fabby, design, silks, and button.

You know what's sad? It's such a TINY sweet design that I should have had it done by now, and it is SO darn cute. It is a "spot" sampler, and alas, I guess I'm not a spot sampler kind 'o gal. :p I need to rifle through my stash (pure torture, right?) and come up with something else now. I also have a surprise project in the works, which I'll show a sneak peek of sometime in the future.

I got this new design by La-D-Da.

I love Lori Markovic's designs and just seem to gravitate towards them. But then again, I have tons of Cricket to be done, and then there's all the Prairie Schooler, and BlackBird Designs. Oh, and more Shepherd's Bush! And I really *should* work on an ornie this month. Ever feel like you have too many designs? OK, just forget I said it. It's not true. I never said that! I also would like to finish my series of PS Prairie Fairies. I only have one left to do--this one:

The whole series is just so cute. If you are a PS fan, and don't have them, check 'em out on eBay. Affordable, and just adorable.

I think I'm just having a really *off* month. My son has had Spring Break this week and I'm all discombobulated. He has a doc appointment Monday morning to see how the bone is healing and hopefully he'll be out of his cast soon. What a pain in the a$$ for all of us, but especially him. I just feel like I cannot get in my "groove" with stitching and I'm bummed out about it. The old noggin feels all cluttered up! I'm going to endeavor to stitch my butt off this week. I also want to commit to walking one mile each day starting tomorrow. I'll be more likely to WALK my butt off than STITCH it off. Unless I'm stitching really, really fast......

  2. Sorry to read you couldn't get into Fright, Tammy. I've got this one too and hopefully won't have the same problem with it. (Knowing how much I like SB I can't see that happening!) :) You really should hold onto it because you may want to try it again some time. I'm too much of a hog to part with any of my SB things. Even once I've stitched them! They're like my babies. lol I'm sure you won't have a problem finding a new home for it though.

La D Da designs are good, aren't they? I haven't got this new one of yours but I do have some others. One of my faves that I've stitched and have framed is Garden Angel. Just love the shade of colours, and the Sheeps Staw fabric goes so well with it.

Good luck with your next project! :)

  3. Oh Tammy! I love the fright sampler. I'm sorry it's not working for you. Sometimes that's just the way it goes! count me in for the drawing. I love Halloween (as I know you do too).
Love the new projects so cute. Hope you get your mojo back and you want to stitch soon. I just started walking an hour each day. I love it and hate it at the same time. It leaves less time for stitching, but I feel better that I'm doing something healthy. So I think that's a good thing.
I hope your son's arm will heal soon.
    Have a good one!

  4. You poor thing! It is horrible when there is so much going on in your life that you're discombobulated. (That is a gr8 word btw.) Be kind to yourself....make sure that you are getting some YOU time! You will find that everything else is easier to deal with. My heart bleeds for you having to go through your stash to find something to stitch. lol I reckon you should pick the one that calls out to you...the WISPS will be finished when they are meant to be.....The La-D-Da design is lovely! I'd love to be included in the draw for Fright.

  7. I too would love to enter into the draw if I would be so lucky. I've really been drawn into so many halloween designs lately. It's a pity that it no longer calls to you. I do love so many La-D-da designs too. Isn't it amazing how many hours melt away when there are so many charts just waiting to be stitched?
Looking forward to watching your progress.

  9. Hmmm, I often think that I have way too many patterns becasue there are always a lot of them that I want to start immediately. It's a real problem, lol.
Why don't you start with the La-D-Da design? It's so lovely. But the PS fairie isn't bad either. Or maybe one of the latest BBD pieces which are so attractive. Decisions, decisions, lol. I'm looking forward to seeing your choice.

  10. I'm sorry that you couldn't get into the SB kit. I hate it when that happens! Your new La D Da is cute, as is the PS... but I know what you mean about feeling discombobulated. My family was home this past week and I thought I'd be stitching my fingers raw but instead just ended up doing a ton of errands! Hope that you can settle down with something soon.

Thanks anyway, but no need to enter me in the giveaway. :)

  11. I have just come across your blog. What a wonderful visit. Fright Night looks wonderful, but I know where you're coming from. I have just returned to stitching in the last couple months, and I want to do everything I see, prim samplers have me going crazy wanting to do them all. Thanks for a great place to visit, I'll be back often. Count me in the give away!:o)

  13. Sorry that you didn't get on with Fright, sometimes it's like that with stitching. I'd like to be included in the give-away draw, nice to do something fun with something not fun (if you see what I mean!)

I hope this week is good and that your stitchy mojo returns, I'm sure the La D Da & stash diving will help.

  14. Hi Tammy,

I would love to be entered into your draw please! I love Halloween designs, SB and La D Da too. I have just started walking each day as well and am pleased to report that I have made huge improvements in both speed and stamina, so I know that you will too, good luck with it! I have only just discovered your blog, but love your stitching, we have similar taste!

Thanks for offering the SB piece as a prize, that is really generous!!

  15. Fun new start you have planned. I have Something Wicked by them in my stash (figures, something else with a Halloween theme, LOL). The little PS faries are cute, I can see how you'd be hooked on them.

Sorry you didn't get into Fright, it's a neat stitch. Are you sure you don't want to just do it as a long term rotation, one motif a month or so? I'd hate for you to give up on it when it will be so cute finished. However, if you're determined, please put my name in for the drawing. As to Goblin, yup, mine came with the mat too. I'm really glad it did as I think the mat sets it off wonderfully.

Hope your son gets good news on his arm, and good luck with your walking plan. Now that nicer weather seems to be here I'm hoping to get a bit more in myself.

Ya know how much I love halloween! I'm sorry it doesn't work for you. I HATE it when that happens. It's like a bad top you wind up buying anyway because you're convinced it looked good in the store! LOL
