Stitchin' it Old Skool and BBD Update

Prairie School, that is! This is one of the first pieces I ever did for myself, waaaaaaaaaay back in the 80's (gasp!). It's still one of my favorites. It's the season houses from Prairie Schooler. I remember being so proud that I stitched it all on one piece of fabric and was able to keep all the spaces even between the houses, lol.

I'm *this* close to being done with BBD With My Needle. Only a few more letters to do and I'll have a finish. I have enjoyed this one, albeit quite leisurely! I just haven't been in a "stitch it fast" kind of mood. But I'm steady. Never give up, right? I'm sure you guys are sick of seeing this design :p I can promise you I'll be done this week.

Don't know what I'll pick next, but it'll either be a patriotic or a Halloween design. Of that I'm sure. I'm also itching to do a sewing project or a quilt. I'm really going to try to fit that in this summer.

So many of you commented on my header--thank you all! I just really enjoy working with Photoshop and pin up girls and other fun images. Pinup art is just one of those things I'm addicted to. I just love the appearance of the women in this type art. Not skinny, not perfect, but somehow just right. They all seem pretty happy, carefree and exude confidence. But all I can say is MAN, I wish I looked like that in a bathing suit!

  2. BBD is looking good. Nice pics too.

I like the pin up gals! My husband's family has a lake cottage in Maine and the walls of the very rustic bathroom (actually just a toilet in there) is lined with old pin up girl pictures. They have been there forever! No one can bear to throw them away even they are a mite tattered.

    Back to the weeding...

  3. Tammy that PS is awesome! You did a fantastic job on it. Don't cha love looking back and then you say, 'what in h-e double hockey sticks was I thinking stitching that?'...I never tire of seeing your WIP sister. They are lovely. Oh and you DO look like in a suite..I thought that was you on your header. :)

  5. I'm not sick of that design at all! And what a nifty surprise that blue star is--I love it. And it goes to show you how classic the PS designs are--just as fresh today as when you stitched them.

I like the pinup girls and always look forward to seeing your header. And funny--since I've never seen you (although we're likely to run into each other one of these days!)--that's how you look in my mind! If there's ever a woman shopping at Everything X-stitch wearing heels, a bathing suit and a witch's hat, I'll know you immediately!

  10. Nothing like starting off on something small for one of your earlier attempts! lol What a magnificent piece and something definitely to be proud of.

Your BBD looks really pretty and I can feel your anticipation on a finish. I think we both started our BBD charts at a similar time, and as you know I'm still working on mine. Must be the underactive stitchy moods we're in. :)
