I had a couple people mention the fabric bleeding onto the thread. I use Thread Heaven to coat the silk floss prior to stitching and have not had that problem at all. But I did stupidly try to steam iron it (prior to stitching) and have a nice red stain on my ironing board! Yeah, I know. :p
Now, here's my first submission for the Totally Useless SAL. Yep, it's an ort jar. Not alot in there because I'm working on the snowman, which is a kit and I'm pretty careful with waste.
I was generously given two awards! One is from Melissa over at Words and Blooms and the second one is from Cindy at LoneStar Stitcher.
Both these ladies have great blogs--go visit and leave some love. Oh, and check out Cindy's TO DIE FOR craft room. It's straight out of a Pottery Barn catalog I swear!
I'll have to think of some ladies to pass this on to, but honestly, every stitcher I interact with would be deserving! There are some seriously FABU blogs out there. I've been dealing with colds and broken bones (see previous post) and I'm worn out! But I'm hoping next time I post, it will be with a finish! Until then,
Great going on RS! How cute are those two? I was wondering how you went with the fabric for this one. SB mentioned there may be some bleeding with it. I think it's put me off starting it in the past. I'm sure you'll have yours finished in no time. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your awards too - very deserving! I just checked out Cindy's craft room and it looks amazing! Wish mine was so well organized.
That snowman is too cute! Cindy's craft room is fabulous. My sewing room consists of 55 litre crates lining the dining room....DS is temporarily living with us after a trip around Australia....His bedroom was my craft room. Make sure you get some time to yourself to relax....you need and deserve it! It is easy to get run down and if Mum's not happy....nobody is!
ReplyDeleteYour right about Cindy's room. I was drooling when I saw it. How dare she have a nice room like that right? lol...RS is looking great and I'm with ya on the stupid 'here a stitch, there a stitch, everywhere a few stitch stitch'...
ReplyDeleteThread Heaven! What a brilliant idea. I have that stuff, and to tell you the truth, I don't think I've ever used it! Thanks for the tip. I'll hopefully remember to get that out next time I use a bold color of fabric to stitch with.
ReplyDeleteFunny about the ironing board cover. It can be a nice reminder to never do that again, huh!
You have a new header, don't ya? Few new Easter pics too, very cute :0) Few more stitches & it looks like Red Snowman will be finished. He's so cute.
ReplyDeleteoooo!!! I love them! I've made the same pattern, but in blue color ;))))
ReplyDeleteThis snowman is so cute. The more I see him on this bright and colourful fabric the more I love him.
ReplyDeleteI also have such an ort jar now, it's fun to look at allthe thread end that are already in there.
Love that snowman! LOL about the red stain on the ironing board--that is SO something that would happen to me! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm LOL at your ironing board, my stain is purple...Love the Red Snowman though.
ReplyDeleteGreat start on your Totally Useless SAL. Boy we got a lot of new members after the NEW MOON post. Hope you get a chance to visit a few and they stop by here too.
Take care of you!!
Your Red Snowman is beautiful. I agree with those little random individual stitches here and there. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThe snowman is looking good, can't wait to see it finished. Are you going to frame it yourself? I'm glad to hear that Jeff is feeling better. Can you believe how nice the weather is today? We all took a ride in the caddy...Wooohooo!
ReplyDeleteRS is cute. Your using cranberry bog, right? I stitched a BBD on that fabby and don't remember it bleeding when I steam ironed mine. I use a towel on my downstairs countertop lol. I don't have a nice craft room like Cindy, but boy wish I did.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you do with your orts each new moon?
Congrats! on the awards girl you deserve them
I really love this snowman design, and truly hope you don't have any more issues with the fabric bleeding. Nice blog, will be back to visit!:)
ReplyDeleteSo lovely snowman and his sheep! very very nice progress :)
ReplyDeleteYour snowman is looking cute!
ReplyDeleteRed Snowman is great!
